Still
There he lay. Crying from inside; dying from inside. He wanted to say, “How much I love you, adore you, cherish you.” But he couldn’t. His mind was yelling, at the top of its voice, And his mouth, carefully contemplating what to do. His eyes fixed on her. By his side. That same smile which made him fall for her. The smile was still there. But wasn’t. That life was still there. But wasn’t. With all the effort he could gather, he opened his mouth. He had her attention. Her eyes. Searching for something. Anything. “Lou…” That’s it. Being in a coma for 20 years, it took a hulk to voice those 3 syllables. “Lunch? Sure honey…” She left. Not knowing, that it was her ‘love’ which satiated him. If only my muscles would obey me once in a while.
